The 30-day countdown to 30-years old

In 30 days, I will be 30 years old. I'm not that concerned about it, which is a bit surprising I guess. Not sure what I'll do. I've thought of different things I could do to celebrate it, but nothing set in stone yet. For sure I'll have to listen to Tim McGraw's "My Next Thirty Years". (I've kinda been a pill about wanting to play it for those family members that have turned 30 in the past 4 years.... so I don't think I'll get through the day without having to listen to it like a dozen or so times.)

In thinking about the "magnitude" of such a milestone, I've considered doing something to show the significance of 30 years. For example, visiting 30 temples by the time I'm thirty.* The problem with this is that I didn't start planning in advance enough to make it work out. So, no road trips for my birthday. :(

Have you seen those lists of questions? You know the ones I've talking about, where there seems to be a million "get-to-know-you" questions that a person will answer on their blog or email. I thought about doing that, but I find that I start losing attention after the first few questions for others and don't want to subject any of you to that. So I thought that instead of a list all at once, I would share 30 things/facts/stories/quirks about myself over the next 30 days. I may post one a day, maybe more, considering that time is a valuable commodity these days. (as well because I may need time to think up something that could be considered interesting to share)

So, yeah, there you go. If you have questions or things you've always wanted to know about me, ask me in a comment. (your help would be most appreciated.)

Enough already.....let the countdown begin!

#1 My favorite temple, the one I would like to one day get married in, is the Provo Temple. I've always just loved the simplicity of its beauty. I also love that it sits right in front of Rock Canyon. So beautiful! The inside decor is also much to my liking. It's a pretty special place for me.

* = For the record, I have been in 24 different temples. Two of which were for open houses, the rest were for doing temple work. Some favorites were: Preston (England), Washington D.C., San Diego, and Los Angeles. ~ I hope to at least double this number in the next thirty years.

Muskrat Love

Got back from working out one Saturday morning and saw this outside an apartment in my complex:

He sat there for a few seconds just watching me, but when I got too close, he took off quick as a whip!

February Family Gathering: Rachel's house for breakfast, planning, and some valentine making.

Fun times with the family!

Finally, as an official 2 month post from when I discovered the little guy.... check this out:

That's right my friends, the "baby" cactus is now a foot tall! I decided to look online to figure out what kind of cactus it is and found something that resembles it the most, Echinopsis pachanoi . Based on what I found, I can remove this piece, allow time for the bottom to "scab" over and then stick it in some dirt, allow the roots to grow, and begin the cycle all over again. :)

That's all.....just thought I'd let you all know I'm surviving tax season. Happy St. Patty's day on Wed! :)
